Behind the Scenes: Coral Discoverer launches in Tasmania with an exciting new addition
Coral Discoverer is underway in her record-breaking Tasmania season with a new stowaway onboard.
Fresh from her three-week maintenance period, the ship is in great condition and also carrying a newly built Xplorer tender which is slightly wider and longer, allowing for a more comfortable expedition experience.
New features on the latest Xplorer include a “shore connection” to charge batteries while the vessel is stowed and state-of-the-art 300 horse powered outboard engines providing greater stability and performance.
The new Xplorer was built by Cairns-based English Engineering.
Expedition Leader Jamie Anderson, who was on the new Xplorer’s inaugural journey aboard Coral Discover says it’s a great addition to the fleet of tender vessels.
“It is roomier inside and a wider aisle which provides an enhanced experience for guests,” he says.
