Mika Kennedy

Financial Accountant

Mika joined the Coral Expeditions team as a Financial Accountant in early 2019. Working within the finance department team, Mika prepares financial reporting for use both internally and externally, crosschecking and keeping up to date with incoming and outgoing invoices. ‘I’m also a bit like a help desk for all Coral Expeditions staff for any finance related questions and queries. I provide advice and training as required to our office staff to ensure they comply with our company policies and procedures.’

‘Working for Coral Expeditions as an accountant isn’t just a traditional accounting role working with numbers and reporting. I love getting involved with staff members from different departments and learning more about the company’s operations as a whole.’

Mika was raised in a small country town in Japan, where at a young age, she realised her dream of travelling the world. During her first visit to Australia, Mika worked as an assistant volunteer Japanese teacher for primary aged students in Ballarat, Victoria. Not long after, Mika found her home in Cairns and with Coral Expeditions. ‘Working for Coral Expeditions is my dream job as I can utilise my accounting skills for a company that offers the products I dream of – exploring the world!’
