Gemma Brown
Cruise Attendant
Hailing from a small country town in Western Australia, Gemma made the move to working on the open seas beginning her role as Cruise Attendant in early 2020. Unfortunately, it was after Gemma’s first voyage that COVID saw the cruise industry take a step back and prompted her to assess how to move forward. This saw Gemma return to her farm life in Western Australia. It was while she was picking avocados in the paddock that she received the call from Coral Expeditions asking if she was ready to step back aboard, to which she replied, ‘I was born ready!’
‘I am now a senior cruise attendant on Coral Adventurer. I feel I can confidently lead the Cruise Attendant team and love the opportunity of teaching new crew members housekeeping, laundry, galley, service and setting for services. I have gained so much knowledge and skills and look forward to further progressing in the hospitality department.’
Gemma highlights being able to travel around the world uncovering remote locations and making memories with friends on board as her favourite perks of the job. ‘I can see myself working here for years to come and continuing seeing new areas of the world! Thanks to everyone who has made my time with Coral Expeditions enjoyable and fun, so many laughs and memories!’
